Woman Life Freedom
The Women Life Freedom movement is the first female lead revolution of our time which was sparked following the murder of Zhina (Mahsa) Amini by so called morality police in Iran.
Zhina (Mahsa) Amini was a 22 year old Kurdish Iranian women who was arrested in September 2022 for “improper” hijab (mandatory head scarf) and was later beaten in police custody resulting in her falling into a coma, she died later in hospital.
Zhina’s death sparked nationwide protests.
Thousands of women took to the streets, taking off their headscarves and waving them as an act of defiance against the oppression they’ve faced for 4 decades.
The women of Iran have been deprived of their most basic and fundamental human rights including the right to divorce, and have custody of their children, the right to dress how they want, and they’ve faced discriminatory employment, education and inheritance laws.
This movement by the brave women of Iran has since turned into a fight against a fundamentally corrupt government.
Iran is made up of many ethnicities (Kurds, Baloch, Turkmens & Lurs), and religious groups including Christianity, Judaism and Bahai and each of these groups faces mistreatment, oppression, imprisonment, and death under the current regime. These barbaric acts are extended to all other minority groups including the LGBQT.
Ancient Persia was the birth place of human rights and the people of Iran want to live in a free and democratic Iran regardless of their religion, political, gender, ethnicity and sexual orientation.
